MUSICAL
THEATRE
This premiere program offers classes in the three essential components of musical theater - acting, singing and dancing. Curriculum will include theatre exercises, warm-ups, games, improvisation, scene study, vocal instruction, audition techniques, and movement workshops for all levels - from beginner to advanced - and all age groups.
CLASSES
Level 1 Class (grades1-3)
Young students will develop their skills and explore new ones. Artistic exploration and development are the main goals of this program level. Students can explore their love of musical theatre and the stage in a nurturing, supportive, fun environment.
Level 2 Class (grades 4-6)
Students will be completely immersed in the exciting work of musical theatre and begin experimenting with the building blocks of performance, with a focus on storytelling thru song & dance.
Level 3 & 4 Classes (grades 7-12)
Middle school and high school students explore the distinctive challenges of the musical theatre genre through survey work with songs, characterizations, vocal work and movement. Please note: certain classes may be extended to allow for watching videos and developing critical analysis of performance through reviewing the history of musical theater.

REQUIREMENTS

Attend weekly classes at One Broadway.

Wear clothing that is appropriate and comfortable for
movement, such as sweats or biker/soccer shorts; no jeans, please. -
Wear jazz shoes or black dance sneakers that allow for
movement. -
Please bring a water bottle, pencils, highlighter, three-ring
binder for music/scripts and a digital recorder on which to record music for
rehearsal at home.
