Owner & Creative Director

Laurie is proud to own a business with deep roots and and a 30 year plus tradition in the Hershey community. This is her 16th season at the helm of One Broadway.  Laurie has a long connection to the studio, dance and the arts in general. Growing up in Hershey, Laurie danced under One Broadway’s founder Nancy Watson.  With years of private voice lessons, Laurie performed in her high school musicals and plays with lead parts, and while attending PSU was a member of the Penn State Chorus in Altoona, PA.  Laurie has owned several businesses;  including a hair salon where she was the creative director and an interior design firm decorating many area homes and businesses.  After becoming a Mother, Laurie became the Volunteer Coordinator of the Hershey Youth Cheerleading Association for 6 years, also serving as head coach and choreographer. She has judged area cheerleading & dance team competitions.  As Executive Director & Creative Director of One Broadway, Laurie enjoys producing, directing and designing our fabulous show “Tappin”.  She is the creative force behind the scenes of One Broadway. She thanks her wonderful faculty of professional instructors and staff members for making One Broadway the continued success that it is!

Musical Theater Instructor

Amy is eager to join One Broadway in the Musical Theater department. Amy has a B.S. in Music Education with a proficiency in vocal performance and has studied acting through The Fulton Opera. She has been teaching privately and in school since 1998. She has taught choir, music theory, music history, and private voice, violin, and piano. Amy has directed Mount Calvary Christian School’s high school spring productions over the years including Annie, Into the Woods, Cinderella, Little Women the Musical, Seussical the Musical, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women the play, Get Smart, and Arsenic and Old Lace. She also was a member of the Harrisburg Singers and a soloist for the Hershey Symphony Big Band. She was an assistant director to Corey Wilkerson for two summer acting camps run by the Hershey Area Playhouse. Some of Amy’s favorite performances include The Sound of Music – Maria, The Music Man – Marian Paroo, Oklahoma! – Laurie, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe – The White Witch, Once Upon a Mattress – Minstrel, The Pirates of Penzance- General’s daughter, and The Barber of Seville, Annie – Boylan Sister/Cecile, Amazing Grace, the Broadway Musical (pre-Broadway).



Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical & Star Co. Instructor

Entering her 9th year as a One Broadway instructor, Meghan is still thrilled to have returned to her roots to teach and instill a love of dance in our students. Meghan is a proud OB alum who trained for 13 years under Nancy & Wendy Watson and Bethe Nardis. Meghan has a B.A. in Musical Theatre and Dance from James Madison University and went on to enjoy a professional musical theatre career performing across the country in regional theaters such as Ogunquit Playhouse, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, Galveston Island Musicals, Granbury Opera House, Cohoes Music Hall, Prather Entertainment Group and enjoyed a theme park summer at Paramount’s Kings Dominion. Meghan’s roles have ranged from ensemble to leads and she has been cast in shows alongside greats such as Tony Award winner Jefferson Mays, Tony Award nominee and original Good Morning America anchor Nancy Dussault, and film and Broadway star Conrad John Shuck to name a few. Previously in and out of New York, Meghan frequently furthered her dance education at Broadway Dance Center and tributes her vocal ability to coaches Roger Lentz and Brenda Witmer. Meghan now resides in Hummelstown with her husband and two children and considers it an honor to have your children in her classes where she hopes not only to educate in dance, but to influence them in many positive ways.

Musical Theater Master Guest Instructor

Jane has just finished three and a half years traveling all around the country on the National Tour of WICKED where she played the Midwife and Madame Morrible and will be playing the same part on Broadway this winter. She is thrilled to be back home in Central Pennsylvania where she and Tim are brand new residents! For six years Jane performed on Broadway in A CHRISTMAS CAROL starring: Jim Dale, F. Murry Abraham, Tim Curry, Frank Langella, Tony Roberts and Roger Daltry. Jane was seen as Lady Anne in CAMELOT with the NY Philharmonic broadcast “Live From Lincoln Center” starring Gabriel Byrne, Christopher Lloyd and Marin Mazzie. She performed the role of  Inga-Lena in ABBA’s latest Musical, KRISTINA at Carnegie Hall and The Royal Albert Hall, London and was the Mother Superior in SHOWBOAT at Carnegie Hall. Other NY performances include Off Broadway: THE KID, The York Theatre’s  ZORBA and Encores! KISMET. Jane also sings throughout the year with the NYC Ballet. Prior to that,  Jane was privileged to be a part of the National Tours of THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA where she understudied and performed the role of Margaret and THE SOUND OF MUSIC playing Sister Berthe. 

Film and TV credits include THE AMERICANS, THE PRODUCER’S movie directed by Susan Stroman,  LAW & ORDER SVU, All My Children and various commercials. Regionally Jane played the role of Mille with her husband Tim Shew in GRETNA THEATER’s production of 7 BRIDES FOR  7 BROTHERS. Other regional credits include both Nettie Fowler and Mrs Mullin in CAROUSEL, Marme in LITTLE WOMEN, Chelsea in ON GOLDEN POND, Glinda in THE WIZARD OF OZ,  Marion in THE MUSIC MAN, Maria in LEND ME A TENOR, Rose in GOD’S FAVORITE, Anna in THE KING AND I, Mrs. Upson in MAME, Lizzie in 110 IN THE SHADE, and The Baroness in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Other performances include EVITA at The Papermill Playhouse and STARCROSSED at the Goodspeed Opera House.  
Jane has a B.M. degree in Voice from Penn State and a M.A. degree in Opera/Music Theatre from Southern Illinois University. She teaches Voice in New York and travels all over the country leading workshops in audition technique and working as an actor in New York



Acro Dance Instructor

Having studied different forms of movement from a young age, Elyse is excited to be developing the acro dance program at One Broadway.  Elyse trained and coached at the Gymnastics Center of Hershey.  She spent ten years as a competitive gymnast, entering state and regional competitions and winning many titles.  She then became the captain of the team at Hershey High School where she became one of five elite gymnasts to score over 1000 points in her career.  She continued to coach at multiple levels and has choreographed routines for a number of gymnasts.  Elyse also has ten years of training in jazz, hip hop and ballet.  With the passion surrounding the One Broadway dancers and staff, she anticipates having another phenomenal year evolving the acro program. 



Tap & Broadway Tap Instructor

A One Broadway Alumni, Megan,  was one of the first three assistants to Nancy and Wendy Watson and Beth Nardis when the studio was founded.   Megan has had the privilege to study tap under the “Greats” – Phil Black, Gregory Hines and Savion Glover.  Favorite Credits include:  Frank Hatchett’s “Invitation Only” Showcase in New York City -  two consecutive years, Hersheyparks’s Speakeasy Too: The  Tappin’ Twenties, two seasons of Bob McGrath’s Sesame Street Live, Christmas Candylane’s Dance Spectacular at Chocolate World and various TV, print and billboard advertisements.    Megan has also worked with high school Dance Teams and Cheerleading Squads on choreography for National competitions, as well as, choreography for Miss Teen Pennsylvania pageant contestants.  Although Megan has studied and performed all forms of dance from Ballroom to Belly Dancing, she considers Tap “the happiest form of dance” and looks forward to sharing her contagious love of Tap in her 14th year teaching at One Broadway.  



Ballet, Pointe & Modern Instructor

Stephanie (Giosa) Graybill began her dance training at the age of 4 at a local dance studio in Philadelphia; it was then that she knew she wanted to dance forever.  Stephanie was accepted into Philadelphia’s High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was a featured dancer in the High School’s touring dance company. While still in high school, Stephanie was accepted into the esteemed training program with the Philadelphia Dance Company, Philadanco, and trained there for several years.  Here she was introduced to Modern Dance and was privileged to study under the direction of Jimmy Truitte, Milton Meyers, and Denise Jefferson. Stephanie went on to receive a BFA in Dance Education from The University of the Arts where she concentrated on ballet and modern dance techniques. Her time at the University of the Arts allowed her to continue studying under Milton Meyers and Denise Jefferson as well as Patricia (Pat) Thomas, Ronen Koresh, Andrew Pap, and Barbara Sandonato. Stephanie performed in countless productions and choreographed numerous dance pieces while living in Philadelphia.

 Stephanie’s professional experience includes teaching dance in Philadelphia’s Public school system on a substitute basis for three years, touring as a dancer in a production by Mark Charles, and performing as a featured dancer in five original productions at the American Music Theater.  Stephanie began teaching here at One Broadway in 2011. She understands the importance of teaching proper dance technique to young dancers. Her passion for dance and years of professional training and performing experience has provided her with the tools necessary to develop strong, well rounded dancers.



Acro, Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz & Star Co. Instructor

Cole is a graduate of West Texas A&M with a BFA in Dance and continues to work toward his Masters of Exercise Science with expected graduation this summer. 

Cole has performed professionally throughout the United States with theatre credits including; a Principal Dancer with the Lone Star Ballet, a dancer for WOW Entertainment Inc. at Six Flags Over Texas, an acrobat/dancer for RWS Entertainment at both HersheyPark and Azamara Cruises Dance Captain. 

Cole, settling in the area as he pursues his professional performance career, will join our Faculty in our Acro, Ballet Contemporary and Jazz Departments. Being highly trained in all venues of dance, his other special skills include Partnering, Acro, Tumbling, Aerial Skills, and Juggling!

Cole is excited to get back into the classroom to teach our dancers, sharing his knowledge, training, and talents with OBDA to grow our students dance and performing education.

Tap Instructor

At the age of four, Marianne began dancing at the only dance school in Hershey.  When the late Nancy Watson branched out and started her own studio, One Broadway the Dance Center in 1988, Marianne continued her dance development there. Marianne also attended the Harrisburg Dance Conservatory and Point Park University Summer intensive programs, and studied modern dance from Rosemary Battista. She travelled to New York often to take master classes till graduating from high school. She is a Hershey Senior High School graduate. After high school, she continued her education at Shenandoah University and graduated with Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. She was the first student at Shenandoah to study in the conservatory and play a varsity sport (soccer) all four years. She worked closely with the Conservatory and Athletic departments to make this possible and pave the way for future conservatory athletes. She also served on the Alumni Board of Directors at Shenandoah University for several terms. She continued her education at Lebanon Valley College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science Education. Mrs. Purdy is a first-grade teacher at Derry Township School District, she serves on the Derry Township Hershey Historical Society Board of Directors and is their Education Chairwoman.  She instructs dance and choreographs for numerous figure skaters in the area.  She has taught dance locally for over 20 years.

Musical Theatre, Tap & Star Co. Instructor

Brandon is a graduate of Liberty University with a B.A. Theatre Arts: Performance and a B.A. in Theatre Arts: Administration. Brandon’s professional theatre stage credits include multiple lead roles with Alluvion Stage Company, RWS Entertainment, Roanoke Children’s Theatre and Stage Right! Brandon also has choreographed numerous productions for The Academy Center of Arts and Liberty University. 

Brandon, with 10 plus years of training in both Musical Theater and Classical will join our Musical Theatre Department, teaching Tap, Jazz, Acting and Voice. His special skills include piano, having a standard British, Cockney, Irish and German accent, Stage Combat and his Kermit the Frog Impersonation, we know he will bring energy and knowledge in all aspects of theatre to our students!

Moving to central PA as a performing artist, Brandon’s objective is to apply his 12 years of performing experience, 8 years of teaching experience and his ability to encourage, strengthen and grow students in their performance and dance careers.

Guest Instructor

McKenzie Sherman is thrilled to be working alongside such talent at OBDA! McKenzie trained at the Hanover School of Ballet for over thirteen years and then received a B.A. in Dance from the University of Alabama. Additionally, McKenzie was the captain of the University of Alabama's nationally ranked dance team. Prior to college graduation, McKenzie spent time studying in Broadway Dance Center's Professional Semester. Her strengths include ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, pom, and hip hop. McKenzie is currently pursuing a professional performance career in addition to prepping OBDA students for competition. She has worked for Hershey Entertainment at HersheyPark (Dance Captain) and recently appeared in Mamma Mia at Bucks County Playhouse. McKenzie feels very fortunate to have crossed paths with the students and faculty at One Broadway and feels very fulfilled sharing her love of dance with others!

Musical Theatre Master Guest Instructor

Tim just finished appearing in a legendary Broadway event called THE VISIT starring CHITA RIVERA and ROGER REES. This was Tim’s 11th Broadway show. Prior to that, Tim comes directly from an out of town development production of THE VISIT @ WILLIAMSTOWN THEATRE FESTIVAL. Tim was the third Jean Valjean in the original Tony Award winning Bway production of Les Miserables and went on to perform that role more than 2200 times, twice on Bway and 1 year in the 10th anniversary producion in Australia.  Tim’s Other Broadway credits include: EVITA with Ricky Martin, BYE- BYE BIRDIE with John Stamos, Officer John Lonigan in WONDERFUL TOWN with both Donna Murphy and Brooke Shields. THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL as St. Cyr, The Alan Menken/Tim Rice Production of Disney’s KING DAVID, 1144 performances as Rusty Charlie in the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of GUYS AND DOLLS starring Nathan Lane, SUNSET BOULEVARD w/ Betty Buckley, and the pre- Broadway Andrew Lloyd Webber- Hal Prince musical, WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND.  Tim made his film debut as Officer O’Rourke in the movie musical, THE PRODUCERS.   Tim can be heard on Disney’s 3-D animated feature TANGLED and the CHICAGO and SHAGGY DOG  Movie soundtracks and has been seen in 3 New York City Center’s ENCORE productions: TENDERLOIN, FACE THE MUSIC and JUNO. Tim has performed with symphonies and orchestras worldwide including the Baltimore Symphony and the National Symphony with Marvin Hamlisch at the Kennedy Center’s 35th Anniversary  Celebration. Tim has numerous television and radio commercials  to his credit including LAW & ORDER SVU, CUPID, RYAN’S HOPE and had a recurring  role as BRUNO on GUIDING LIGHT. For 15 years, Tim has produced “Broadway Sings on Park Avenue;”a concert  to benefit children  affected and infected with HIV and AIDS and works extensively to educate and assist at-risk kids.  

Audiences may be familiar with his work in American touring companies of SHOWBOAT, EVITA and SOUTH PACIFIC and in the multi award-winning LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. For many years, Tim performed the role of the “Big Fat Man with a Bag” (Santa Clause) at  New York City’s Radio City Music Hall’s “CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR”! He was thrilled to be a part of the new and revamped version of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID as Chef Louis. He has also appeared regionally as Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE, a pre-Broadway run of the new Kathy Lee Gifford musical SAVING AIMEE, and a performance at the world famous Ford’s Theatre in Washington D.C. in Frank Wildhorn’s  CIVIL WAR. Tim had the privilege of soloing in Leonard Bernstein’s MASS w/the Baltimore Symphony/Marin Alsop conducting at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center.  That recording was nominated for a Grammy. 
Tim and his wife, Jane are new residents of Hershey and continue their work in New York City and around the country.Tim's extensive work as a vocal director/teacher/clinician and adjudicator for theatre, choral and showchoir festivals has taken him around the world.

Dancing since age two, Katie has had no greater joy in life than performing and sharing that passion for dance with others through teaching! At age six Katie was chosen by her teachers to be the youngest member of her studio's dance team. Being a member of this elite competition team opened her eyes to new dancers while traveling up and down the East Coast for regional and national dance competitions. Over the next ten years she would attend more than 50 competitions in over 10 states! Along with competing, Katie has performed at Walt Disney World and at the Olympic torch ceremony in 1996. After completing 15 years of dance education at Wendy's Dance Studio, in Fairless Hills, PA she knew she could not walk away from competing and performing! Katie's academic pursuits led her to Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she studied Biology and Education. While at Drexel she was chosen to be on the Drexel University Dance Team. Katie spent five years with the team while obtaining her Bachelor's and Masters in education. Being named captain the last three years, Katie pushed her teammates and coaches to enter the collegiate competition realm. Through both the Universal Dance Association and the National Dance Association Katie claimed personal awards and team awards. Only six months prior to graduation, Katie led her team to the 2011 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship.  With the support of her teammates and coaches Katie had achieved her dream of competing one last time! After graduation, Katie started her first teaching position in Columbia, MD at Atholton High School teaching her love of science.  After one year she was offered to coach the dance team which Katie to expanded into a Junior Varsity and Varsity Squad. Both teams qualified for the MAPDA State Championship, where her Varsity team placed 3rd, as well individual awards for two of her students. Katie is very excited to be teaching at One Broadway after recently moving to the Hershey Area.  Starting this new chapter in her life, she knows that she can share the same joy of dance, while training her students with the level of expertise she experienced in her dance career.



Ballet, Hip Hop & Tap Instructor

Kelsey is honored to return to the place where she first discovered her love of dance, to help other students cultivate their own passion. Since her first ballet and tap classes at One Broadway, Kelsey trained for 15 years in tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, pointe and contemporary. During this time, she served as a dance assistant and student teacher. She trained with a variety of Broadway performers and choreographers, including Christine Negherbon, and attended
multiple intensive programs with West Coast Dance Explosion. She was also involved in her school choir, spring musical productions and cheerleading. Her most memorable experience from her time as a student was being selected to perform in the national Broadway tour of Beauty in the Beast at the Hershey Theater.

Kelsey attended Elizabethtown College where she earned a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing. She was a member of the Elizabethtown College Dance Team where she performed at sporting events, Hersheypark and a variety of fundraising and community events. She was also a member and choreographer for the Emotion Dance Club. Kelsey has been teaching jazz and jazz funk for the past 4 years and currently works as a Human Resources Manager at The GIANT Company. Kelsey is excited to once again be part of the OBDA family!



Ballet, Hip Hop, Star Co. & Tap Instructor

Amy’s passion and love for dance began when she put on her first tap shoes at the age of 3. As a One Broadway Alum, Amy trained under Nancy and Wendy Watson. As a student of One Broadway she was also a dance assistant and student teacher. She traveled to New York City to take classes at Broadway Dance Centre and Steps on Broadway. While in NYC she trained under some very well-known dancers/choreographers including Frank Hatchett, Kat Wildish, Tracie Stanfiled, and Shelia Barker. Amy recently graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education with minors in dance and exceptionalities. While at school she got to study many new dance styles which included modern, Afro-Columbian jazz, salsa, cha-cha, and improvisation to name a few. At Slippery Rock, she was in charge of SRU’s hip hop dance team, JamRock. She choreographed and staged the dances for many on and off campus events. Amy also works at Milton Hershey School over the summer months. She not only works with the students there, but also teaches dance to students ranging from Kindergarten to High School. Amy is thrilled to be back a One Broadway, and to share her knowledge and love of dance with others!



Ballet Instructor

Kelly found her love for dance as a very young girl. She had the great privilege of studying under Donna Grimm with the Dance Unlimited Company for 18 years, training in all venues of dance including; Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Street Jazz, Modern & Lyrical. 

As a member of the Drama Club, Kelly gained additional knowledge of theatrical and stage choreography, coached cheerleading and taught Pre-Ballet while obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in the Arts in Western Maryland.   Kelly also worked as an early childhood assistant teacher for the county Head Start program in Maryland. 

Before planting roots in Hummelstown to raise a family, Kelly also studied abroad in fine arts and dance gaining much experience in other cultures.  

Kelly is thrilled to have the opportunity to teach at One Broadway and honored to be working with your children! She is looking forward to an amazing year sharing her love of dance with our littlest Ballerinas!
